2. Sweet potato Fries in Air Fryer
INGREDIENTS
- Two medium sized sweet potato
- Olive oil
- Black pepper
- Salt
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1
Begin with two medium sweet potatoes. Look for sweet potatoes that are not overly long, as you want to use the entire length of the sweet potato as the fry length. Cut a sweet potato in half if it is too long. Remember that the fries will shrink after cooking, so cut them into shapes that are slightly longer than the desired fry length.
Cut off the skinny ends of the sweet potatoes and peel them. The sweet potatoes should then be cut in half. This will allow you to lay them on a cutting board and begin slicing them into pieces more easily.
STEP 2
Cut the sweet potatoes into thin strips with a thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The crispier they will be, the thinner you cut them.
Preheat your air fryer to the temperature recommended for sweet potato fries. This is usually around 380 degrees Fahrenheit (193 degrees Celsius) for 3 min, but it can vary depending on the model of your air fryer.
STEP 3
Combine the sweet potato slices with a teaspoon of olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl. Using your hands, coat each fry thoroughly with the seasoning.
STEP 4
Fill the air fryer basket with the seasoned sweet potato slices, making sure not to overcrowd them. For even cooking, use a single layer that is not overlapping.
STEP 5
Cook the sweet potato fries in the air fryer for 10 minutes at 380 degrees Fahrenheit (193 degrees Celsius). After 10 minutes, carefully shake the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and flip the fries. This promotes browning on all sides.
STEP 6
Cook the sweet potato fries for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until they reach the desired crispiness. Keep an eye on them to prevent them from burning. When the sweet potato fries are done, remove them from the air fryer and serve immediately. They taste best when they are fresh and crisp.
Remember to adjust the cooking time and temperature according to the model of your air fryer and your personal preferences. Enjoy your homemade sweet potato fries from the air fryer!
